Crash Data Retrieval User Groups and Forums

Many times while working on cases, you run into a snag or need a little helpful insight to a question. There are a number of helpful User Groups, Discussion Forums and other resources available on the Internet that do just this. There are three groups that we have found to be the most useful:

CDRtool User Group (Yahoo!)

This is an online user group for crash data retrieval users. There are currently 1000+ members (as of June 2009).

This is an invite only user group and requires the prerequisite that you have completed the Collision Safety Institute's Bosch approved CDR Certification course within the past two years.

CDRhelp Google Groups

This group is dedicated to assisting Bosch/Vetronix CDR system users in their efforts to image, not analyze or interpret, the data that might be available in a supported vehicle. The group's main objectives are to promote imaging through the DLC and to reduce instances of evidence spoliation.

ARC Network Discussion Forum

This is a free online discussion forum hosted by the ARC Network. The ARC Network is the largest online portal website for the industry of accident reconstruction and traffic accident investigation.

This discussion forums primary focus is on general accident reconstruction but some posts touch on crash data retrieval and CDR questions would certainly be addressed.
