Crash Data Retrieval Adapters

Certain vehicles require the use of an adapter when retrieving crash data from a vehicle. This section of the CDR web site lists all the available adapters for purchase for the latest version of CDR software. If you need any of the adapters listed below you may order them directly online or by contacting Crash Data Group

When purchasing CDR Hardware Cable and Adapters version releases 3.0 and newer
please make sure you also purchase
1. The new OBDII cable w/VPS (P/N: F00K-108-287) as this replaces the old OBDII cable (P/N: 02002837)
2. The new Power Supply Kit (P/N: F00E-900-104) which replaces the old Power Supply (P/N: 02001723). The new power supply kit is a 2 piece kit and includes P/N's: 03002165.003 and 02002435

ACM Adapter – P/N: F-00K-108-387

The ACM adapter (see image below) must be used when retrieving crash data from select 2007 and newer Ford ACMs and when imaging 2010 and newer Chrysler Minivans and Dodge Journey.  The "Supported Vehicles" section of the CDR help file will indicate which vehicles this adapter is to be used when downloading crash data from ACMs.

The ACM adapter is gray in color and is clearly labeled with P/N: F-00K-108-387. The ACM adapter is to be used with the following CDR cables (you will encounter communications errors if you attempt to use the following cables without the ACM adapter) :

Ford PCM Adapter – P/N: F-00K-108-221

The PCM adapter must be used when retrieving crash data from Ford PCMs either through the DLC connector or by directly connecting to the PCM using the specified PCM cables.  The PCM adapter is clearly labeled with P/N: F-00K-108-221.

To avoid possible spoliation of crash data stored in the vehicle's PCM,  the PCM Adapter should also be used when retrieving crash data from ACMs through the DLC connector on vehicles the CDR tool supports both ACM and PCM downloads.

IMPORTANT: You must use the cables and adapters included in the Ford PCM Interface kit and follow the instructions provided in this help file to ensure that the data is collected without accidental data spoliation.

GM Power Booster Adapter – P/N: 2003108
NOTE: Bosch is is no longer manufactured this part and it is no longer included in new CDR Premium kit sales. We have a limited number of GM Power Boosters left in stock. Once we are sold out, we will not get any more in stock.

Use the CDR power booster only when instructed by CDR help file.  It is used on some GM ACMs because the ECU requires more power during EDR retrieval than the others and the adapter/booster ensures that the ACM is getting adequate power.

Please note that NOT ALL GM vehicles require the use of the power booster.

USB to Serial Adapter – P/N: 06501063-001

If the computer you are using to perform CDR downloads does not have a serial port, you will need a USB to Serial Adpater. This allows you to use an available USB port on your computer as a serial communications port.

This part is included in the CDR System Kit.
