The Crash Data Retrieval Tool

The CDR Tool is a commercially available tool, allowing you to image crash data directly from all supported vehicles giving you a detailed report of critical data parameters leading up to and during a crash. Some of the parameters include pre-crash data, vehicle speed, brake status, throttle position, ignition cycles, delta-V, seat belt status, and others.

Announcement: CDR Software Version 10.2 Released

On May 7, 2013, Bosch released CDR software version 10.2. For more information about this new release and renewing or purchasing a new CDR software subscription, click here.

Announcement: CDR Canada

The distribution of Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) products to Canadian customers will change on February 1st, 2013. CDR products will no longer be shipped and invoiced from Robert Bosch LLC.

Crash Data Group will now process, invoice and ship all product orders directly to CDR customers in Canada beginning February 1st , 2013.

With this change, customers in Canada will now be able to order directly online with a credit card and also participate in any special promotions offered by Crash Data Group. Please note, due to International shipping laws, customers in Canada will be responsible for any taxes, duties and customs charges.

General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Fiat, Toyota/Lexus/Scion, Honda/Acura, Nissan/Infiniti, Suzuki, Mazda, Volvo, and BMW/Rolls-Royce

According to Polk data (the automotive data and marketing solutions leader) for 2011, over 40% of the passenger cars, SUVs and light trucks that are on the road and registered are supported with the Bosch Crash Data Retrieval Tool. Bosch is the only manufacturer that makes a commercially available CDR Tool and Crash Data Group is the exclusive distributor in the USA and a reseller for Bosch Canada. Purchasing the Bosch CDR Tool

If you are interested in purchasing the Bosch CDR Tool there are a couple options:

  • CDR Tool Premium: This is the complete CDR Tool with all available hardware and software for imaging vehicles included on the current "Vehicle Coverage List". More info.

  • CDR Tool DLC: This is considered the "starter kit". It contains all the necessary hardware and software to image vehicles through the vehicle's diagnositc link connector (DLC). It DOES NOT include any cables or adapters required for imaging EDR data directly to the airbag control module (ACM), powertrain control module (PCM), or rollover sensor module (ROS). More info.

Sole Distributor for US and Canada

Crash Data Group is the sole distributor for the Bosch CDR product line in the United States and Canada. A sole source letter is available if needed to by pass the bid process when ordering.
