Bosch Diagnostics, the leader in Event Data Recorder (EDR) information retrieval technology, is proud to offer the Crash Data Retrieval System (CDR System). The CDR System is a tool that provides access to vehicle crash data that may be stored in late model passenger cars, light trucks or SUVs.
The Bosch Crash Data Retrieval System is the essential tool for
- Better case evaluation
- Collection of available evidence
- Accident Reconstruction
- Evaluating insurance claims
It is estimated the Bosch Crash Data Retrieval System is capable of recovering crash and/or pre-crash data from more than 80 million cars, light trucks and SUVs. Some of the crash information includes:
- Vehicle pre-impact speed
- Driver's seat belt switch status (on/off)
- Driver braking or throttle position before the crash
- Crash severity (delta-V)
- and many other valuable parameters
The crash data in supported vehicles is located in the airbag control module (ACM) and/or powertrain control module (PCM). The CDR System allows users to download the crash information from the ACM and/or PCM and display the information in data tables giving crucial information in the analysis of the vehicle crash.

The CDR System Starter Kit is a low cost, entry level kit which includes only components needed to retrieve crash data from ACMs through the DLC connector of 1994 and newer vehicles supported in the current CDR software version.
Important: Some 1994-1995 supported GM vehicles require the 02003090 ALDL cable for DLC downloads which is not included in this kit; depending on the condition of the vehicle, crash data may not be accessible through the vehicle's DLC connector; 2008-2009 Chrysler/Dodge mini-van and 2009 Dodge Journey currently do not support crash data downloads through the DLC connector, only direct connection to the ACM using the F-00K-108-385 is supported on these vehicles. Any additional cables required at a later date can be ordered individually or in bundles.
